It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the International Women’s Day event to be held at the Canons High School, Shaldon Rd, Edgware, Middlesex HA8 6AN on Saturday, 8 March 2014 from 10am to 2.00pm.The event is organized by the Tamil Women Development Forum, an initiative of the charity Centre for Community Development, in collaboration with the Hendon Tamil School and the Tamil Information Centre.
The overall theme of the Conference is “Inspiring Change”. The Conference will be a platform for human rights and humanitarian activists and other participants to discuss the current situation, challenges and advancements relating to the situation of women in particular those who live in the northeast Tamil homeland and upcountry in Sri Lanka.
The event will focus on how to change the status of women.
The Conference will be divided into substantive sessions and discussion groups, providing the participants the opportunity to focus on specific areas from their own perspective and experiences. The main conclusions of the Conference will be reflected and incorporated into TWDF’s plan of action for the year 2014/15.
The working languages of the Conference will be: Tamil and English
