**Urgent appeal to help save one valuable life**

Mr.P Eknaligoda, a freelancer journalist working for e-news has gone missing from 24th January 2010. Arrested earlier on 27th August 2009 and released day after. Police claimed mistaken identity.Has serious diabetic condition from age 15, takes two insulin injectionsdaily and also medication after open heart, bypass surgery. All attempts totrace him have failed so far. Serious concern that he will not survivewithout medication for more than 4-7 days.

Please create publicity and International pressure on GOSL to trace and/or
information of Eknaligoda , information and necessary medical attention if
under arrest or detention.

Profession: Journalist – works freelance for E-news. Human Rights
activist from 1991

Last seen by wife 10.30 am 24.01.2010 when he left for work.

Was arrested by police on 27th August 2009, released and came home
28thAugust.

Arrested and bundled into van, questioned and slapped, subjected to
humiliating treatment, but not grievously tortured-

Released by police, saying it was a case of mistaken identity. But missing
person was of the opinion that they knew him and those who arrested him
kept a watch on him later. No action on arrest taken though complaint was
made.

*NB*- Missing person suffers from Diabetes since he was 15
