இந்த வருடம் தேசிய சுதந்திர தின நிகழ்வில் சிங்களத்தில் மட்டுமே தேசிய கீதம் பாடப்படும் என இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் அறிவித்திருக்கும் நிலையில் இந்த நாட்டின் இன்னொரு உத்தியோகபூர்வ மொழியான தமிழ் புறக்கணிக்கப்படும் நிலையில் அதற்கு உரிய அங்கீகாரத்தை அளிக்க விரும்பும் நாங்கள் அதனை இங்கு பதிவிடுகின்றோம்.
ශ්රී ලංකා ආණ්ඩුව විසින් නිදහස් දිනය වෙනුවෙන් ජාතික ගීය සිංහලෙන් පමණක් ගැයීමට තීරණය කර ඇති නිසා එය මගින් මග හැර ඇති අපගේ අනෙක් නිල භාෂාවේ පැවැත්ම මෙලෙස සටහන් කරමු.
As the Government of Sri Lanka has announced that the national anthem will only be sung in Sinhala at the Independence Day celebrations this year, a group of us wish to give due recognition to the other official language, Tamil, which is being disregarded, by placing it on record here.
