1999 யூலை 10 திகதி சக்தியின் (நோர்வே) முதலாவது வெளியீடாக புலம்பெயர்ந்து வாழும் பெண்களால் எழுதப்பட்ட 24 சிறுகதைகளை தொகுத்து “ புது உலகம் எமை நோக்கி” என்ற சிறுகதைத் தொகுப்பு வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இதன் தொகுப்பாளர்கள் தயாநிதி (நோர்வே) றஞ்சி (சுவிஸ்) இத் தொகுப்பில் உள்ள பல சிறுகதைகள் ஆங்கிலத்தில் விமர்சிக்கப்பட்டு
“STORIES FROM THE DIASPORA:TAMIL, WOMEN WRITING ”
என வெளிவந்துள்ளது அது மட்டுமல்லாமல் பல புலம்பெயர் பெண்களின் சிறுகதைகளும் எடுத்தாளப்பட்டுள்ளனஅந்த வகையில் “ பிரதீபா தில்லைநாதனின் “சோகித்த பொழுதுகளின் நிமித்தம்” ஆகிய கதைகளும் இவ் நூலில் விமர்சனத்திற்கு எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
The Tamil women”s writings in the diaspora have been published as a collection of short stories titled, The New World that Confronts Us” Puthiya Ulakam Emmai Nokki”( The Editors are Thayanithi (norway) Ranji (Swiss) ) The first part of the discussion deals with these stories, selecting from among the twenty- three womens writers. “Puthiya Ualkam Emmai Nokki” was published in 1999 In Norway.by a women”s collective,including twenty three stories from women living in Germany , Switzerland, France, canada, Norway, and england. The collection has a double significance,as being politically part of a diaspora construction from the perspective of nation,and socially part of women”s experiences as women and as displayed women.
The Editors have in a way summed up the totality of the kinds of consciousness that are evoked through the short stories.
